The events calendar for Santa Barbara is always full of entertaining things to do. The inviting warm weather gives locals and visitors the chance to enjoy a variety of events and festivals in the arts, seasonal and cultural celebrations, and music all year round. The 70th Annual Orchid Show was just held at the Earl Warren Show Grounds from March13th-15th where the public got to see some of the county’s most spectacular orchids and plants in bloom. Just Around the Corner: This year kicking off with band Alt-J (April 14th) the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation is lining up an amazing season full of great music for everyone to enjoy. Some of the headliners this year include Robert Plant, Steely Dan, Diana Krall, Aretha Franklin and 92.9 KJEE’s Summer Round Up: Of Monsters and Men, Banks and Walk the Moon, among others. It’s gonna be a great season! Earth Day Festival Did you know the first Earth Day was celebrated right here in Santa Barbara in 1970? Yes! Celebrating our Mother Earth right here in Santa Barbara, locals are proud to say, this is the birthplace of not only Earth Day, but also the Community Environmental Council! Earthday in Santa Barbara will be held at Alameda Park April 18th-19th (sat 11-7, sun 11-6) where green enthusiasts can enjoy bike valet, local food & drink, live music, kid’s corner, Green car show, an eco-marketplace and so much more. Santa Barbara Vintner’s are celebrating in style with their SB Vintner’s Spring Weekend: Four days of Food and Wine will be enjoyed throughout Santa Barbara county. Over 120 vintners are participating and there is a Festival Grand tasting, not to be missed, April 24th 1-4pm at River View Park in Buellton. The I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival is an annual festival held Memorial Day Weekend (May 23-25th 2015) where participants can come watch artists create their chalk painting masterpieces on the steps of The Old Mission. Local eateries and breweries serve delicious food and drink on the Mission lawn accompanied by live music making for a colorful place to spend the day, or three, with friends and family.
